"Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches."" Matthew 13:31-32
Don't underestimate the power of a tiny mustard seed. When we are saved and receive the Holy Spirit we are filled with tiny seeds of goodness, kindness, joy, love and we are to cultivate and spread them wherever we go. It takes practice and thinking outside of yourself but it is what gives us joy as a Christian in building the Kingdom of God.
When we seek to serve others we are practicing our faith out loud. We are giving to those that may need to see Jesus in your actions and deeds. They may never step foot in a church so we have to take the church to them and love them right where they are.
*Spread them to the grocery store cashier.
*Spread them to your co-workers.
*Spread them to a sick or elderly neighbor.
*Spread them to your long-lost friend.
A smile, a genuine compliment, a hug, a phone call can go a long way. You may be the only Jesus they see. We don't know what others might be going through unless we reach out and show them we care.
Dana always says, "No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care." When we fill this earth with loving-kindness it squeezes out the negativity and gives room for Love, His name is Jesus.
We may never see the fruit of our labor, but trust that God will finish it in His time and in His way. We just need to give Him the glory for using us in His plan.
So let's get busy, girls! God has cultivated the soil (the lost), now we just need to spread the seed (Jesus' love).
I love you & He loves you more!
Lord, Thank you for using us in growing Your Kingdom. May we be sensitive to those around us that need to see Jesus. Amen.
