A Jesus Kind of Love

Updated: Feb 9, 2021

"Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:14-16

How heartwarming and comforting this scripture is to us that believe. Because Jesus walked where we walk, faced everything imaginable that we face (some things none of us will have to) and bore our sins on a cross and died, but never sinned. He had weakness (without being weak) and testing(without giving into temptation), experiencing it all except for falling to sin. He is fully God but fully man (Phil. 2:5-11)

Our Lord and Savior. Creator of the Universe. The Prince of peace. The God man has been as low as man can get and now sitting on His throne He bids for you, He has your back, He supports you, encourages you (1 Peter 5:7). He is our mediator (1 Tim. 2:5). He is our righteous Judge (Col. 1:22). What hope and inspiration we have in Christ to see us through every stronghold, tragedy, pain, and trouble we are going through or will go through before our life is over. We have the security in knowing Him personally. Thank You, Jesus.

Now, because all He did for us we can come boldly to the throne of grace. With our hearts opened and our face at His feet we cry out to Him and He hears and understands. He pours out His love, grace, and mercy on us. He delivers us and shows us a way when we feel there is no way.

Think on that today, let it sink deep into your soul. Sometimes we may take for granted the heritage we have in Jesus Christ. Take time today and everyday to be in a state of sincerity of who God is and gratefulness of what God does and thankfulness of how God loves. He loves with a Jesus kind of love; All out, arms open wide, unconditional, full-on agape love.

I love you & He loves you more!

Lord, Your love is consuming. Your care for us is unlimited. You abide with us and go to battle for us. We are forever in Your debt. May we boldly approach Your throne as we seek You daily and abide in Your presence. I praise You, Father! In Jesus' name. Amen.
