Waiting...

Updated: Aug 16, 2020

"Have You not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:28-31

God is by our side even in the WAIT:

~When we feel lost and alone.

~When we think He is not around to answer our prayer (that we have lifted up to Him over and over).

~When we believe He has forgotten us (others take precedence).

~When He is silent (maybe we aren't that important to Him).

All of these are lies of Satan.

Wait on the Lord! Don't move ahead! Slow down! Be patient!

If we focus solely on our need we will overlook the importance of the waiting. For in the "waiting" we learn life lessons.

The people of Israel felt that God had forgotten them. I mean can you imagine forty years, wandering in the dessert, I would be right there with them. We like Israel look at God with our small, human eyes.

God is great! He is powerful! He is Almighty! We can "be renewed" `which means, "to exchange" our weakness for God's strength. We can depend on Him to see our dreams come true, but...in His time and His way.

Benefits of waiting on God:

*We gain new strength (Isa. 40:28-31).

*We can take that time to dwell on the greatness of God (Isa. 4:21-26).

*Moves us closer to God (Prov. 18:24).

*Makes us reflect on what it is we are waiting for (Ps. 119:48).

*Builds our faith (Matt. 6:10).

Through our waiting we can draw close to Him and gain a deeper relationship with our Lord. The One who loves us more than life itself. The One who gave His perfect Son so that He could have a relationship with you and me.

Through waiting, your dreams just might change into His dreams for your life. And that, my girls, would be a dream of a lifetime!

I love you & He loves you more!

Most Gracious Heavenly Father, May we learn to wait. May we be renewed and strengthened as we grow closer to You, and may our faith be built wiser and stronger in You. Thank You for the lesson. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Good morning, Kim. Thanks for sharing some of my mom's favorite verses.

She raised eight children on a very limited income. She enjoyed singing the Isaiah verses with the church choir.

It may be hard to imagine for you but finding Bethany Baptist Church is a tremendous blessing, a reward, for remaining faithful. Your entire family is a blessing.

God bless.
