"Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:23-24
Once upon a time, in the land of my six year old world, I owned a beautiful ring. It was made of silver and had the sweetest little mint green butterfly that was handcrafted on it with tiny, intricate details on each of the wings. My memory will not recall how I obtained this possession but I do know that I loved it and wore it all the time.
But you see, I would lose this little treasure more times than not and my heart would hurt thinking it was gone forever. Every time I turned around it had disappeared. I would immediately call out the Calvary to start a manhunt on every occasion to locate this little gem. Someone would always end up finding it, whether it be in the couch cushions, under my bed, on the bathroom sink (I was always sure to remove it at hand washing time) or even somewhere in the great outdoors. I probably spent more time searching for it than wearing it if I were being honest. I was elated every single time it was returned to me and I would place it on my finger to adore and celebrate its return.
I don't know whatever happened to this piece of jewelry that was so special to me. I guess it was lost for the very last time, never to be found (I like to think another little girl might have found it and loved it as much as I did).
Praise God for His unlimited knowledge, power, and presence that leads Him to wherever we might be. He knows our heart and He is the only judge who judges our hearts correctly. He knows us as we are and understands our true thoughts and motives. God knows us better than we know ourselves.
"I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings." (Jer. 17:10)
If we truly want to walk in the Lord's way and enjoy His presence, we must be dependent on God to lead us in the right way. God not only knows our heart, He searches it. Our heart and mind is where our character and personality are stored and that is where God wants to have full reign. Our heart is a treasure to Him and He passionately seeks it.
I love you & He loves you more!
Lord, I am overjoyed that You seek out my heart. You cleanse me of all unrighteousness and fill me with all that I need to live in Your presence, striving to do Your will. Please seek out all of my anxieties and wicked ways and lead me in the way everlasting. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Bill,
I am praying for your sister, Donna. May her surgery go well and her pain be gone.
Good morning, Bill.
My prayer is that God would always take action in my life and that I would focus intently on Him everyday.
Thank you so much for your prayers.
My prayers are with Donna. May the Lord guide the doctor’s hands and may she feel immediately relief as she opens her eyes from surgery. In Jesus name.
Thank you for blessing me with your kind words each morning.

Good morning, Kim.
As always, I look forward to reading your blog to see what God would have you share. This morning I was impressed that all the action verbs started with God and laser focused on our hearts. He loves us and desires to work on our hearts to prepare us for true life in Him.
I am praying for your mom and dad. Perhaps because of the work of God obvious in their hearts I have been drawn to them from the day I first met them.
I would ask a favor of you and those reading. Please pray for my little sister, Donna, as she is having major surgery today on her back to relieve chronic debilitating…
