"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God." 1 Corinthians 2:12
I spent a lot of my late twenties and into my thirties asking God to reveal to me what my spiritual gifts were. What I should be doing for Him so that I might grow in my faith and serve Him exactly where He wanted me to be?
Then I realized all He wanted was all of me. My mind, body and soul. He placed His Spirit in me when I was six years old. His work had already begun.
You see, I was living out my walk with Him each day, not perfectly, but striving to live for Him and allowing Him to live through me. I always wanted to know what my 'Spiritual Gifts' were. All the while He was showing them through me by who I was in Christ.
The Holy Spirit is the key to everything in the life of a believer. God's wisdom lies with the Spirit, no one has the ability to know God or God's wisdom; only God can know God. The Holy Spirit is the link we have as believer's between us and God; the Spirit is God. So...
God lives in us as the Holy Spirit (John 14:26).
When He lives in us He immediately dwells and moves within us to bring out His goodness (1 Cor.2:10).
The Spirit knows the things of God because the Spirit is God. The Holy Spirit is the link between God and man that makes knowing Him possible (1 Cor. 2:11).
Then He is able to supply us with what we need to live out His works and wonders; we must be a willing vessel of obedience (Isa.1:19).
This is possible when we are in His Word each day and talk to Him like we talk to one another; and when we listen more than we speak. Meditating on who God is will keep us sensitive to Him and all He has instore for us.
We don't have to ask God for the gifts of the Spirit because He distributes them to each of us as He sees fit for His purpose (1 Cor.12:11). Our body is not our own, it is the residence of God Himself (Rom.7:4). That is why whatever is done in and through us of a godly-nature we should immediately give Him the glory (Romans 15:17).
Girls, my prayer for you is to embrace His command on your life and live it out to its fullest. Be responsive to His calling; you will be blessed every time!
I love you & He loves you more!
Lord, Thank You for Your Word that reveals all we need to know of Your Spirit and how You work through us. May we always be sensitive and willing to Your call. Help us to walk in Your way but not get in the way. Amen.
Amen! Yes, that we would always and forever stay sensitive to His call on our lives.
My prayers are with you. Get well soon, friend!
Merry Christmas♥️
Good morning, Kim. I am amazed by God's love. That he came to save us while we were deep in sin.
Not only did he save us, he filled us with his Holy Spirit . I pray that we respond to him 24/7 thus leading others to him.
Merry Christmas .
