Find Peace in His Presence

Updated: Aug 11, 2020

"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:6-7

I don't know about you but I need refreshment. All the news of what's going on in the world is enough to cause any of us a mental breakdown. It is overwhelming if you catch yourself listening to and reading about the state of our country. I thought twice about writing a devotion about this because I feel I'm throwing it in your face, only reminding you of what you're not having to see on any social media platform...but here I am...bringing it up. But let me turn it around for you and for me. Give us a reprieve from all of it, if only for a moment.

God is a never-ending source of support and courage for those of us who call upon Him. When we are weary, He gives us strength. When we see no hope, God reminds us of His promises. When we grieve, God wipes away every tear.

God will hold your hand and walk with you every day of your life if you let Him. So even if the circumstances of this world are difficult, trying, confusing and ugly, trust the Father.

"Snuggle in God's arms. When you are hurting, when you feel lonely or left out, let Him cradle you, comfort you, reassure you of His all-sufficient power and love." -Kay Arthur

"a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year." (Deut. 11:12)

May we rejoice in God who sees and knows and cares. He will bring the sunshine to our cloudy day even in the midst of all this confusion.

"Whatever may be our circumstances in life, may each one of us really believe that by way of the Throne we have unlimited power." -Annie Armstrong

I love you & He loves you more!

Dear Lord, cover us with Your mighty hand. Carry us through this world where things can be so distracting. May we cling to You and focus on Your goodness, kindness, gentleness and joy. May we rest in knowing You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
