"The Lord had said to Abram, "Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing." Genesis 12:1,2
In 1992 I had been fully engulfed in growing my nail business in a very reputable salon that helped take my clientele exactly where I projected it to go. I was satisfied and content with all that I had accomplished. I loved the people I worked with; they were like family. We had all worked together now for two years and I knew the future looked bright.
One day Sonya approached me with an idea about the two of us going in together and starting our own salon. Someone had contacted her about a new business venture and would she be interested? Well, if this didn't put a kink in the wheel that was rolling so smoothly. Just the thought of having our own small piece in the professional world was exciting to say the least. We prayed about it and prayed with our husbands and talked through all the what if's? Of course making a long list of all the pro's and con's. In the end we decided to take the plunge and go for it.
A few months later we moved into our brand new hair and nail salon. We were able to choose the lay out of our space, to the fixtures and colors and decor. We were filled with great anticipation on opening day. It was amazing how both of our businesses took off. The new clientele we attracted plus our loyal regulars that followed made the move priceless.
"And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the Lord will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers" (Deut. 30:9)
I am so thankful I serve a God that is in the details of my life. He instills in us our value; giving us confidence in why change is good. That being content isn't always where He wants us to linger. He works in and through us to bring about His plans and He gives us blessings when we step out in faith.
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Heb. 11:6)
I can't say I have always immediately reacted with a "yes, Lord" to His every consent for me but I know the times that I have He has always paid in full His loving and gentle guidance and amazing blessings. I praise Him for that!
I love you & He loves you more!
Lord, You move me in ways I could never move myself and for that I am forever grateful. Your blessings are endless and Your love is amazing. May I be ever more obedient as I live this life You have given me. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Good morning, Bill.
I cannot begin to imagine his emotions as he stepped out in faith when the Lord called on him. I am always so amazed when I read Abraham’s story.
I hope you have a blessed day.

Good morning, Kim.
I have great respect and admiration for Abraham. I can't imagine me doing what he did. I pray that I follow God's plan for my life even when it seems illogical or risky.
May you and your family be blessed beyond all measure.
