All that is Within Me

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!" Psalm 103:1

It is hard for me to read this verse without breaking out into song. I love the A cappella version of this rendition the best. To stand in the midst of a group of people, belting out these words in praise to our Lord (I get chills just thinking about it).

In this Psalm David is talking about God's mercies and praising Him for all He has done for him.

~For His goodness.

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits" (Ps. 103:2)

~For His forgiveness and healing.

"Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases" (Ps. 103:3)

~For His redemption.

"Who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies" (Ps. 103:4)

~For His provision and strength.

"Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's." (Ps. 103:5)

~For His righteousness and justice.

"The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed." (Ps. 103:6)

What I don't want to overlook is~ 'all that is within me'. I have to give from the depth of my soul. Not just the highlight reels; not just the good times and happy thoughts, but also my deepest, darkest moments, the fear and anger and hurt. He wants all of me.

Isn't that refreshing?

We don't have to put a mask on for our Savior. We don't have to be someone we're not. We don't have to 'fake it till we make it' with our Lord.

All we have to do is come to Him on bended knee and lay it all down. Praise Him in all areas of our life. When we come to Him it's about everything in us praising His holy name and that makes us more aware than ever of what we are allowing in our life that doesn't line up with God's will for us.

It is all about praising God right where you are.

Allow Him to fill you when you are empty.

Strengthen you when you are weak.

Hold you when you are afraid.

Forgive you when you sin.

Heal you when you are sick...but always praising Him in everything.

I love you & He loves you more!

Lord, I worship Your holy name! You are rich in love and slow to anger. Help me be real with You. For all Your goodness I will keep on singing with all that is within me and I will praise You in all things! In Jesus' name. Amen.
