A Meeting Place

Updated: Jan 20, 2021

"My soul, wait silently for God alone,

For my expectation is from Him.

He only is my rock and my salvation;

He is my defense;

I shall not be moved.

In God is my salvation and my glory;

The rock of my strength,

And my refuge, is in God.

Trust in Him at all times, you people;

Pour out your heart before Him;

God is a refuge for us." Psalm 62:5-8

For just a moment be quiet... For that is when we can hear God the most. Out of the rush and flurry of our day we have to find a moment of stillness and quiet so that God can refresh our soul. Being quiet enables us to reflect on the greatness of God and helps ensure our loyalty to Him (Ps. 46:10).

Today's scripture is a great one to memorize. It's as if the Psalmist is repeating encouragement to himself. He is reminding himself of who God is, how much he needs Him and all that He does for him. He is our Rock, our Salvation, our Defense, our Glory, our Strength, and our Refuge (Ps. 62:6,7). He. Is. Everything. Trust in Him...not yourself, your husband, your children, your parents, or your job. Only God! (1Cor. 8:6)

I want to encourage you to find a prayer closet, fall on your knees and pour your heart out to Him. Tell Him your concerns; your hurts; your disappointments; your needs; your desires; your wishes; your complaints; your worship; your thankfulness; and ask for His forgiveness. He is the only One who can truly help and guide you. He will make a way and will set you on the right path and give you freedom you never knew you had (Ps. 57:2).

If you turn your heart to Him, focus on your relationship with Him, then you will begin to see real change in yourself and your life (Deut. 30:10,11).

We cannot change others, only ourselves, but through our change we will see others differently. We will love ourselves, our family and others with His love. We will become better at being patient and kind; selfless and forgiving.

We have to learn to put our expectations on God and not on people. They are only human but God--well...He is God!!! (Deut. 10:17) Amen and Hallelujah!

I love you & He loves you more!

Dear Lord, May we be obedient to You. May we seek out a time and place to meet with You and give You our praise and worship and gratitude for all You are and all You do. I place all my hope in You alone for You are God! Amen.
